To band som henger igjen for min del.
Slade, etablert i 1966(!:-) var mitt favorittband i oppveksten, og logoen til den engelske rockegruppa satte sitt preg på de fleste kladdebøkene på 70 tallet. Holder, Powell, Hill og Lea har kanskje verdens mest spilte julelåt, som visstnok årlig spiller inn ca. kr. 10 millioner(!). «Slade are for life, not just for christmas» er etablert for å vise at bandet har mere på reportoaret enn julemusikk, de har flust av andre herlige rockelåter, som er legendariske.

Etter hvert, og egentlig enda sterkere i nyere tid, har musikken til Gillan, Blackmoore, Paice, Lord og Glover i Deep Purple overtatt som mitt band nr. 1. Er noe med historien, riffene og kvaliteten på musikernes håndtering av de respektive instrumentene. Og at de spiller fortsatt er jo bare helt utrolig (konsert i Oslo Spektrum i oktober 2026), ca. 58 år etter oppstart…

09/01-26: Er snart i mål i jakten på hver og en av disse LP’ene (studioalbum). Mangler pt. kun Abandon og Bananas i LP samlingen. Abandon er visst kun utgitt som CD (?), og koster flesk. Bananas er også sjelden.., men har iallefall skaffet meg den på CD.
